Kristin Færøvik er styreleder i Norsk olje og gass. På deres årskonferanse i forrige uke fikk enerWE et videointervju med henne etter at hun hadde innledet konferansen. Hun var da klar på at Norge må satse for fullt på å finne nye felt som kan utvinnes.
– Norge må fortsette å utnytte de naturressursene vi er så heldige å ha utenfor kysten vår, sier Færøvik til enerWE.
Hun påpeker samtidig at bransjen også har egne interne utfordringer, og trekker frem sikkerhet og konkurransekraft.
– Vi må opprettholde konkurransekraften og videreutvikle industrien slik at vi kan fortsette å tiltrekke oss flinke folk og risikovillig kapital.
Som så mange i bransjen er også hun opptatt av at olje og gass får den oppmerksomheten og anerkjennelsen bransjen fortjener.
– Vi har en jobb å gjøre i forhold til å skape anerkjennelse for hvor viktig denne industrien er. Vi har en hel generasjon som ikke har opplevd et Norge uten oljepenger. Som ikke vet hva det vil si å ikke ha tilgang på lang foreldrepermisjon, billige barnehageplasser og barnehageplasser til alle, sier Færøvik til enerWE.
På spørsmål fra enerWE om det er noen sammenheng mellom kostnadskuttene og bekymringsmeldingene om sikkerheten offshore, forteller hun at de undersøker dette, men at de ikke har avdekket det så langt.
– Vi har ikke klart å påvise noen sammenheng så langt, men det betyr ikke at vi ikke leter etter årsaksssammenhengene. Det jobbes knallhardt hver eneste dag med å opprettholde et høyt sikkerhetsnivå, sier Færøvik.

Olje og gass viktig i mange tiår
Forrige uke var næringslivstopper og politikere samlet på Norsk olje og gass sin årskonferanse.
Under konferansen tok enerWE en prat med Erna Solberg (H), Jonas Gahr Støre (Ap) og Terje Søviknes (FrP).
Selv om det er noe uenighet omkring Lofoten, Vesterålen og Senja, så er de tre største partiene allikevel helt enige om at olje og gass i lang tid fremover kommer til å være den viktigste motoren i norsk økonomi. For tiden finansierer denne næringen rundt 20 % av velferds-Norge.
Vi er allerede 100 % fornybare
Myndighetene i Beijing har nylig stengt det siste store kullkraftverket og satser nå på gass i håp om at det skal gjøre lufta i den kinesiske hovedstaden levelig.
Også resten av verden jobber hardt for å løfte kull ut av energilikningen til fordel for mindre forurensende gass.
I Norge har vi en kraftproduksjon der 96,1 prosent kommer fra fornybar miljøvennlig vannkraft. Resten kommer fra vindkraft og varmekraft. Norge ligger således godt an i det grønne skiftet.

Skal vi virkelige ikke tjene penger på eksport av gass?
Gass fra norsk sokkel bidrar til å løfte kull ut av energilikningen i Europa.
Det er derfor verdt å reflektere over den særnorske tilnærmingen til det grønne skiftet, der sterke norske krefter ønsker norsk gass og en stor inntektskilde for AS Norge til livs.
For tiden utgjør petroleumsindustrien 38 % av norsk eksport.
Det skal vi være takknemlige for.

Odfjell har signert en intensjonsavtale verdt nesten en milliard kroner om bygging av ytterligere to kjemikalietankere for et kinesisk verft.
Avtalen omfatter to kjemikalietankere på 38.000 dødvekttonn (dwt) med 40 tanker i rustfritt stål og lastekapasitet på cirka 45.000 kubikkmeter, melder Odfjell i en pressemelding.
Avtalen med verftet Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding kommer i tillegg til tidligere inngåtte avtaler med samme verft for levering av fire skip på 49.000 dwt med 33 tanker i rustfritt stål.
– I kombinasjon med øvrige avtaler vi nylig har inngått, vil denne intensjonsavtalen dekke de fleste av våre behov for fornyelse av Odfjells «super segregator» kjemikalietankere, sier Kristian Mørch, administrerende direktør i Odfjell.

Working with Mintra Group and implementing Trainingportal as our Competence Management System (CMS) helps us increase awareness, build a safety culture and get every employee home safe and sound every day, says Thomas Holmsen, HSE and Quality Manager for Lemminkäinen in Norway.
Thomas Holmsen and his team are responsible for almost 600 employees during a year, on more than 30 sites around Norway. Most of them are full time employees, but a considerable number are hired from project to project, often based on skills and training rather than formal education. Some of them use a computer every day, other live without a PC onsite when working away from home.
Managing classroom courses and training for this group and making sure everyone received the required training and competency used to be a complex puzzle. The consequences of missing out on just one person could be fatal at worst.
– I was constantly worried about not being compliant with contract demands, internal rules, government regulations and laws. And I spent a lot of time making sure that we were. Gradually, I realized, that something had to be done, Holmsen says.

Holmsen’s background, managing an eLearning- and CMS-solution for a previous employer, made him very much aware of what Lemminkäinen was looking for when inviting eight suppliers to bid for a contract that would cover their needs.

– From all providers we invited to the bidding we expected basic functionality, like an eLearning Portal with an existing course catalogue, a trustworthy system for managing courses and participants and easy-to-use interface to enable employees to complete the courses feeling empowered and good about themselves. But it is important not to forget the human factor. The mix of experience, product knowledge and personality often represents the difference between a product supplier and a trusted advisor.
– During negotiations we started calling the Mintra Group-team “The Good Girls” – meant as a huge compliment. They were always prepared, they knew Trainingportal and the Competence Management solution like the back of their hand, they very quickly understood our needs – and were able to establish a relation that made us feel reassured.
– In addition, knowing that other third party eLearning-suppliers had chosen Trainingportal as their preferred platform for delivering courses, the choice really was not that hard.
– Last, but not least, Holmsen continues, – we saw early on that the combination of Mintra Group experience and the Competence Management System, would be a power tool in Lemminkäinen’s work when documenting and managing our own competence and knowledge. Working with Mintra Group, we would be able to develop the structure and principles for information maintenance, that will save us time and money when a potential customer, in a bidding process, asks of us to document our employees’ formal background, practical experience, courses taken and “on the job”-training. We need to know what we know. And now we do.
Constructing a safety culture with Mintra Group and Trainingportal
– Even though we had huge expectations after signing the contract, we were well aware that a lot could go wrong. Our first eLearning-project with Mintra Group was an HSE course, mandatory for all employees, and another for our subcontractors. A large group of people, both office workers and onsite personnel, some with digital experience, some without, had to complete this basic training.
– Working with Mintra Group in developing the course was the first success. It was a process between two equal partners, where we both brought valuable knowledge and experience to the table and collaborated to make the best HSE-training possible, tailored to meet our needs and the target group’s abilities.
– In retrospect, it is safe to say that both the course itself and our employees and subcontractors completing it, is the second success in this relationship. I receive a report every evening on how many has completed one or several courses in Trainingportal. So far, 90 percent of those for whom the HSE training is mandatory have completed it.

Bensinsalget har falt jevnt og trutt de siste årene. Samtidig har dieselsalget stort sett økt. Dette har flere årsaker, og elbiler er bare en av de. DE største faktorene er at bensinbilene blir mer drivstoffgjerrige, samt at bensinbilene kjører kortere og kortere.
Det er derfor ikke overraskende at bensinsalget faller, men det faller nok kraftigere enn mange ville forventet.
Ifølge nye tall fra SSB ble det solgt 78 millioner liter bensin i februar i år. Det er en nedgang på hele 9,3 prosent fra 86 millioner i februar i fjor.
Dieselsalget falt også. Det ble solgt 244 millioner liter i februar, mot 249 millioner liter i samme måned i fjor.
Forklaringen ligger muligens i prisøkningen. I februar i år lå snittprisen på bensin på 14,87 kroner pr. liter, mot 12,93 kroner literen i fjor. Det er en prisstigning på 15 prosent, og det er markant mer enn avgiftsøkningen som ble iverksatt fra 1. januar i år.
For diesel var det et smått utrolig stort prishopp på hele 26 prosent fra 10,95 kroner literen i fjor til 13,80 kroner literen i år.
Så spørs det om prisene holder seg. Mandag morgen observerte enerWE flere bensinstasjoner som solgte diesel til under 12 kroner literen og bensin til under 13 kroner.
